# Planning TV and radio with a smaller budget

By [Network Flow](https://networkflow.com.tr/about/) · Updated 17 September 2026

With a smaller budget, start by narrowing the audience and message. Calculate a realistic minimum plan before spreading money across many apparently cheap options. A number of broadcasts does not guarantee a number of sales.

## Define what the budget covers

Allow separately for airtime, 20% VAT and any production. Committing everything to airtime can prevent launch if you have no usable creative. A missing calculator price for national TV does not mean free or cheap inventory; those channels require a tailored quote.

## Compare one channel and a suitable daypart first

Compare one daypart, both dayparts on that channel, and a second-channel plan. Do not calculate an unrealistic budget by going below minimum quantities. European channels require at least 20 airings per selected format and daypart; other TV channels and radio stations require at least 8. Assess cheaper dayparts alongside audience fit.

## Start with a measurable response path

Use a memorable web address or a clear contact instruction. Before launch, confirm the form works and your team can respond to enquiries. Compare enquiries during the campaign with a prior period, accounting for seasonality, other advertising and your own tests. Do not attribute every direct visit to TV or radio.

## Worked budget example

Radio with ODT only: 10 sec × 10 airings × TRY 350 = TRY 35,000 net. 20% VAT is TRY 7,000, giving TRY 42,000 including VAT. This is a one-daypart example at standard planning rates, not a suitability or sales promise. If your total budget is lower, discuss requirements and alternatives with us.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can a small number of airings guarantee customers?

No. Results depend on audience, message, offer, broadcast allocation and the sales process. Buying airtime does not guarantee customers.

### Can I select fewer than the minimum airings?

The calculator applies the minimum for each selected daypart. Contact us to discuss availability and alternatives for a different requirement.
